This evening at 6 p.m. in the Research Center's Project Space at VSW is an Installation and Artist Talk with Laurie O'Brien, Nancy Bernardo, Mitch Goldstein, and Allen Topolski.

My project is a series of collages that explore a world that is becoming both increasingly more connected and distant. I respond to this complexity by working with pre-existing images and texts that are subject to extreme stress or dislocation in time and space to help them reveal their hidden meanings. I am using figures and landscapes from the magic lantern slides and the Soibelman Archive at Visual Studies Workshop. My process explores collaboration, "Patacritical Interrogation Techniques", the word "random", and post-facto rationalization.
