The Dryden will screen Too Late Blues (John Cassavetes, U.S. 1961, 101 min., 16mm).

John Cassavetes's first studio-produced effort is still a very personal film set in the world of jazz. A young pianist (Bobby Darin) fights valiantly against selling out, finding encouragement in the arms of a beautiful singer (Stella Stevens). The soundtrack features jazz greats like Shelley Manne and Benny Carter.
