Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the introduction of the Erector Set. This is the story of that event and the man and the company behind Erector and many other scientific toys. Witness the era of the heyday of that company and the toys it made. Understand how these toys inspired generations of American engineers and scientists to follow their careers and build the industrial complex of this country. Watch the decline of this company and then its demise with insights into how sociological changes and poorly conceived products lead to that event. Written, directed, and photographed by Thomas B. Barker who has been a leading historian of The A. C. Gilbert Company for over 40 years and a filmmaker for over 60 years.
