VSW will host a First Friday reception for Monitored or Recorded by Luna Galassini, on display through February 19.

Galassini works as a transcriptionist for the LA County district attorney's office and has browsed prison message boards and studied Google Maps to pinpoint the location of a drive-by shooting more times than she can count. In the Project Space she will be working with the found material of these interrogations, witness interviews, and jail phone calls to further her attempts at bridging the gap between personal experience, the visual vernacular of the digital world, and the stories on which she eavesdrops on a daily basis.
