The Dryden will screen His Girl Friday (Howard Hawks, U.S. 1940, 92 min., 35mm).

His Girl Friday is a gender-bending version of Hecht and Macarthur's comedy The Front Page. Rosalind Russell plays a breathless whiz of a reporter determined to give up her typewriter for a wedding ring, but her editor and ex-husband Cary Grant makes it hard for her to leave. The breathlessly delivered gags and dialogue are a signature of master comedy director Howard Hawks.
