Book Discussion: "White fragility : why it's so hard to talk to white people about racism" by Robin DiAngelo

2018-Sep-17 @ 18:30 - 20:30

Small World Books will host a discussion of White fragility : why it's so hard to talk to white people about racism by Robin DiAngelo.

Join Founder/Executive Director in an informal and thought provoking chat around socially conscious books that are must reads for anyone doing or interested in social and race activism work. Robin DiAngelo, lecturer at the University of Washington, created the term "white fragility". She has noted that "white privilege can be thought of as unstable racial equilibrium".When this equilibrium is challenged, the resulting racial stress can become intolerable and trigger a range of defensive responses. DiAngelo defines these behaviors as white fragility. (Source: Wikipedia)
