The Dryden will screen Blow-Up (Michelangelo Antonioni, Uk/Italy/Us 1966, 111 min., 35mm).

Michelangelo Antonioni's first English-language film is this critically acclaimed murder mystery. Featuring David Hemmings (Thomas), Vanessa Redgrave (Jane), Sarah Miles (Patricia), and Jane Birkin (The Blonde), Blow-Up pushes the boundaries of visual reality, and encourages the audience to question what is and what could be. Thomas, a cruel, overly self-indulgent photographer, seeks photographs for his latest project. He falls upon a couple in a park, and decides to use them as his subjects. Only after enlarging the photos, does Thomas realize what he has captured. Thomas becomes infatuated with identifying an answer to this mysterious encounter, as he struggles with his existence in a world that may not be quite as it appears.
