Victor Frankenstein and his rejected creation aren't far removed from today's discussions on fetal tissue research, life-extension, human cloning, and surrogate motherhood. This talk will discuss the novel and how it differs significantly from its many film adaptations, as well as the various controversies it has inspired since its original publication in 1818.
