A dark, austere portrait of drifter William Blake (Johnny Depp) as he travels deeper and deeper into a violent vision quest, Dead Man is one of the more adventurous releases of the 1990s. The film features memorable performances by Depp, Iggy Pop, and Robert Mitchum, among others, and is anchored by Neil Young's hauntingly minimal soundtrack.
