W. Griffith, U.S. 1911, 17 min., 16mm), and Tillie's Punctured Romance (Mack Sennett, U.S. 1914, 82 min., 35mm) with live piano by Philip C. Carli as part of the Silent Tuesdays series.

Tillie's Punctured Romance is remembered today primarily as Charlie Chaplin's first role in a feature film, as Keystone's first feature effort, and possibly the first feature-length comedy. But its true genius comes in the form of Marie Dressler, who also starred in the stage version. Tillie is a country girl with a rich father, seduced into eloping with a womanizer Charlie (Chaplin) who is interested only in her money. Left destitute in the city by Charlie, Tillie struggles to make her way when Charlie returns upon finding out that her father has died and she has inherited everything. The film is a take-off on Griffith "country" pictures, a fine example of which will be playing before the feature.

[source: George Eastman Museum calendar, 2018-Nov-13]

https://jayceland.com/blog/venue/dryden-theatre-at-george-eastman-museum-formerly-george-eastman-house/
{"@type":"Place
{"@type":"PostalAddress
["jayceland.com/blog?id=5834
{"@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"Event
The Rose of Kentucky, Tillie\\'s Punctured Romance screenings
<p>The Dryden will screen The Rose of Kentucky (D.
