SUMMARY:All's Well that Ends Well theatrical performance (2016-Apr-14 @ 7:30 p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:The MuCCC will host a performance by the Shakespeare Players of All's Well that Ends Well by William Shakespeare. \nDr. Cece McFarland\, the director\, has chosen a fairy-tale setting for this fantastical comedy in which Helena\, a woman of modest birth\, pursues her true love\, the well-born Bertram. Helena's questionable tactics are marked by the intrigue and comic trickery for which Shakespeare is known\, and\, of course\, give rise to the famous saying about how things turn out. \n [source: MuCCC website\, 2016-Apr-4]

SUMMARY:Rochester Radical: The Journey of Christopher Lasch
DESCRIPTION:In the Rundel Auditorium on the 3rd floor of the Rundel Library Building\, Dr. Jeffrey Ludwig will discuss Rochester Radical: The Journey of Christopher Lasch as part of Rochester's Rich History Series. \nChristopher Lasch (1932-1994) was perhaps America's most preeminent social critic of the mid- to late 20th century. The author of numerous celebrated books and articles\, Lasch also seemed poised for an academic career as a historian that would lead him to the highest heights of the American university system. Instead\, in 1970 after a decade of job-hopping\, Lasch landed in Rochester and never moved again. He found an enriching community and planted deep roots in the "Flower City\," turning down other opportunities in order to remain in a place that aligned with his intellectual values. Join us for an exploration of the connections and affinities between person and place that tell Lasch's quintessentially Rochester story. \n [source: Monroe County Library website\, 2016-Apr-4]

SUMMARY:All's Well that Ends Well theatrical performance (2016-Apr-16 @ 7:30 p.m.)

SUMMARY:5Head musical performance (2016-Apr-16 @ 10 p.m.)
DESCRIPTION:A 5head show feels like an illegal party. Not the kind where the cops come because it's too loud\, but the kind that the government might try to ban because it's too much fun. With seemingly boundless energy\, they dish out fiercely solid rhythm section grooves underneath traditionally catchy ska guitar stabs\, all while sometimes sweet and sometimes red hot horn harmonies duke it out with front man Rob Reed's freight train inspired vocals. From a songwriting perspective\, what makes 5head stand out among the legions of other ska bands is simple: hook. That thing that catches your ear and makes something new seem familiar. From the bass lines to the chord progression\, from the vocal melody to the horns lines\, hook is king. \n [source: Sticky Lips website\, 2016-Apr-4]
