Keaton propels this farce\, cutting an appropriately screwball figure as he confuses boundaries between the traditionally masculine world of manufacturing and the feminized realm of housekeeping. In his review of Mr. Mom\, Roger Ebert wrote that Keaton gives the "uncanny impression of being able to think faster than he can talk\," which may be one of the most apt descriptions of the actor's style ever constructed. The result is staggering. The film was also known as Falstaff\, deservedly so because this is his (and Welles's) film. Falstaff\, a bumbling\, lovable\, bloated oaf\, is a complex character whose cowardice and avarice disturb while his good humor warms.
