Carli as part of the Parties series.  \n"People Behaving Badly" and the terrible consequences that befall them were hallmarks of DeMille's most glamorous productions of the 1920s\, and this is a magnificently entertaining example. The story follows devious\, greedy upper-class Lillian Rich\, who first marries a European aristocrat before seizing upon hard-working (but low-born\, alas!) candy manufacturer Rod La Rocque\, whom she then exploits with amoral abandon. In the midst of all this wild melodrama\, some strangely touching elements arise\, as often happens with DeMille\, but everything comes to a head in the jaw-dropping "Candy Ball" sequence\, a thinly-covered (in every sense of the phrase) confectionery orgy. SUMMARY:Don Menza with Bob Sneider\, Mike Melito\, and Danny Vitale musical performance
DESCRIPTION:Don Menza is a powerful tenor saxophonist\, with an dynamic and distinctive sound and soloing style. Born in Buffalo\, New York in 1936\, Menza started playing tenor saxophone when he was 13. After getting out of the Army\, he was with Maynard Ferguson's Orchestra (1960-1962) as both a soloist and an arranger.  A short tenure with Stan Kenton and a year leading a quintet in Buffalo preceded a period living in Germany (1964-1968). After returning to the U.S.\, he joined Buddy Rich's 1968 big band in the "jazz tenor" chair\, recording the famous solo cadenza on "Channel 1 Suite" (Recorded "live" at Caesar's Palace\, Las Vegas) that utilized circular breathing and has become known as a classic among music educators and musicians alike.  He settled in California and has worked with Elvin Jones (1969)\, Louie Bellson\, as an educator\, and in the studios. Don Menza\, who has made far too few records\, recorded as a leader for Saba (1965) in Germany\, Discwasher (1979)\, Realtime\, and Palo Alto (the latter two in 1981). Don was a long time member of The Tonight Show Band\, with Johnny Carson.  His compositions\, such as "Groovin' Hard" and "Time Check" (both favorites of Doc Severinsen's NBC Orchestra and Buddy Rich's Big Band) have become standard repertoire in jazz studies programs at colleges and universities worldwide. \n [source: Bop Shop website\, 2018-Jul-30]

Beyond the action scenes of horsemen and conflict and some nice touches of humor (mostly between Wayne and Victor McLaglen as his boozing\, lovable sergeant)\, this is essentially a portrait of a fine man at the end of a fine career. DESCRIPTION:Godspeed You! Black Emperor began with Efrim Menuck\, Mauro Pezzente and Mike Moya in Montréal in the early 90s\, playing a handful of shows and recording a self-released cassette as a trio before beginning to transform the group into a large band. Recruiting numerous Montreal musicians through 1995-1996\, Gybe mounted sense-rattling wall-of-sound performances\, featuring as many as 14 musicians and several 16mm film projectors\, eventually self-recording their debut vinyl-only version of F#a#∞\, released on Constellation in late summer 1997.
