DESCRIPTION:Trumpet player and composer Nathan Kay grew up in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin and studies jazz performance at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester\, NY. During his time at Eastman he has founded his own bands\, such as the Nathan Kay group. Kay won 1st place in the 2018 National Trumpet Competition\, and has an impressive performance resume. He has played at festivals such as the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival\, the Bay View Jazz festival\, and has performed at renowned venues across the United States from San Jose to New York City\, and many places in between. In the summer of 2018\, Nathan was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center as a member of Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead.
