DESCRIPTION:A screening and discussion with Tom Hahn of Robin Hood—En vert et contre tous (Robin Hood—in green and against all\, Jean-Marie Nizan\, Philippe Traversat\, France 2017\, 109 min.) will be held in the Robbins Library and Koller-Collins Center 416 in the Rush Rhees Library on the UofR Campus.  \nLast spring\, a European film production company — Arte Geie Zeta Productions —located in Paris and Hamburg shot a documentary film on the outlaw hero Robin Hood. They sent the director and camera people to England\, Australia\, and here to the UofR in April — to interview Professor Thomas Hahn and get stills for some of the significant items from his extensive Robin Hood collection. The footage was edited in post-production over the following months\, and the finished film was released at the end of July. Join us for a screening of the film (which runs about 50 minutes) and a conversation with Tom Hahn afterward: we'll discuss Robin Hood as a media creature\, his stature and history in popular culture and in the academy\, his most memorable incarnations\, and maybe even settle the question of whether he was "real"! \n [source: University of Rochester events calendar\, 2017-Oct-16]

It is our good fortune that Barry has agreed to return to Rochester in October to present his perspective on the state of church/state separation under the Trump administration.  In his talk\, which is titled "The Trump Administration Really\, Truly Hates Separation of Church and State\," Barry will point out all the ways the present administration has tried to thwart efforts to maintain the separation of church and state and what the public can do about that.
