Started in 2008\, as the Ellison Park Cyclocross Festival the event was elevated to Class 1 status in 2014 (the highest level of international cycling). The idea came to her while writing and collaborating on a show for the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival which highlighted four different world versions of Cinderella as presented by actresses of each background. "Growing up adopted\, I never really felt any specific cultural connection. I decided to write Swan? as an exploration of folklore for the culture of the adoptee\, highlighting my own journey and struggles\, as well as honoring the people in my life who have helped make me who I am."
