SUMMARY:The David Dance screening
DESCRIPTION:The Little will screen The David Dance (Aprill Winney\, U.S. 2014\, 108 min.) "A discussion with Writer/Producer/Actor Don Scimé will follow the show!" \nAway from the microphone\, David is soft spoken\, shy and unsure of himself. However\, as his on-air alias\, "Danger Dave" – the host of the local radio show\, "Gay Talk\," in Buffalo\, New York – he's poised\, witty\, and every listener's best friend. His sister\, Kate\, is a thrice divorced banker with a yen for classical music and cats. Though successful\, the siblings suffer from a secret\, yet vast\, sense of inadequacy. Kate decides to adopt an orphan in Brazil and asks David to be a father figure. David struggles with his self-doubt while gawkily romancing his coworker. Past and present intertwine in this bittersweet winter's tale of a man learning to love and accept himself. \n [source: Little Theatre website\, 2016-Jan-25]

SUMMARY:Triple Divide screening
DESCRIPTION:The Brighton Memorial Library will screen Triple Divide (\, U.S. 2013\, 90 min.) \nThis movie is said to be the only documentary of its kind on the controversial subject of fracking capable of speaking to all sides\, with exclusive interviews from the industry\, experts\, and Americans suffering in the wake of shale gas development. "Its the best movie on fracking to date [using] facts\, not fiction or spin" wrote Pennsylvania resident\, Robert Donnan. Academy Award nominated actor Mark Ruffalo co-narrates the film\, taking part in the project after being shown an online screener a few weeks before the final release. The film is co-directed by journalists Joshua Pribanic and Melissa Troutman. \n [source: Color Brighton Green website\, 2015-Dec-14]

SUMMARY:Trois couleurs: Bleu (Three Colors: Blue) screening
DESCRIPTION:The Dryden will screen Trois couleurs: Bleu (Three Colors: Blue\, Krzysztof Kieslowski\, France/Poland/Switzerland 1993\, 98 min.\, 35mm\, French w/subtitles). \nLoosely based\, both thematically and visually\, on the colors of the French flag\, Kieslowski's trilogy examines the tenuous bonds that connect people and the haphazard events that forge or break them. A restrained coolness pervades Blue\, which stars Juliette Binoche as a recent widow who passes through life\, evading contact with the world and its painful reminders of her lost past. But the entreaties of a former lover and a friendship with the prostitute downstairs threaten to draw her back into the realm of relationships and feeling. Beautifully shot and daringly edited\, Blue also earned Binoche a Best Actress Award at Cannes. \n [source: George Eastman Museum website\, 2016-Feb-22]
