Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit or crochet, but you weren't sure how or where to start? Then this class is for you! In Yarn 101 you'll learn about:

1. Different types/weights of yarns and fibers
2. How to read a yarn label
3. Tools of the trade (Knitting Needles, Crochet Hooks, stitch markers, Oh my!)
4. Picking a pattern that works for you, and learning how to read it.
5. Substituting yarn you like for the yarn in the pattern you're using
6. What's a swatch? Why should I make it?
7. Knit alongs: what they are, what they're all about, and how to join one.

This class will prepare you to start your first project, or move on to another class (like Knitting 101 or Crochet 101!) Materials will be available for you to handle and see if you'd prefer to knit or crochet. There will also be an example of a knitter's traveling project bag so you can see the tools you'll need on the go! No experience required. Come join us and start your craft adventure!
