The Dryden will screen The Son of Kong (Ernest B. Schoedsack, U.S. 1933, 70 min., 35mm).

Bogged down with lawsuits and money troubles following King Kong's charge through Manhattan, conscience-heavy producer Carl Denham boards the Venture, a ship captained by the enterprising Captain Englehorn. In Dakang they meet Nils Helstrom, who spins a yarn about treasure on Skull Island to fool them into getting him out of Dakang. When they reach Skull Island they realize Kong wasn't the only member of his family . . . Quickly following on the success of King Kong, The Son of Kong is a charming, small-scale sequel, featuring much of the crew of the first film, including animator Willis O'Brien.
