Legendary special effects wizard Ray Harryhausen is the real magician here, breathing life into the people-eating Cyclops, the fire-breathing dragon, and sword-wielding skeleton. Employing his spectacular Dynamation process to combine stop-motion miniatures with live action and special visual effects, Harryhausen crafts a truly epic cinematic voyage. Like Max Steiner's triumphant, all-encompassing score for 1933's spectacular King Kong, composer Bernard Herrmann's sweeping score is integral to the success of Sinbad's fantastic journey, breathing life to sail and skeleton.
