Serenity screening

2015-Oct-17 @ 17:00 - 18:59

The Little will screen Serenity (Joss Whedon, U.S. 2005, 119 min.) to benefit The Little Theatre and Equality Now.

Equality Now's mission is to achieve legal and systemic change that addresses violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world. They accomplish this social change through international advocacy, strengthening human rights laws and mechanisms, partnerships with grass-roots level rights groups, and raising awareness of discrimination via social and traditional media.

In the future, a spaceship called Serenity is harboring a passenger with a deadly secret. Six rebels on the run. An assassin in pursuit. When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an awesome action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything — or anyone — to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But, the greatest danger of all may be on their ship.
