Half The Road: The Passion, Pitfalls & Power of Women's Professional Cycling screening
2016-May-17 @ 19:00 - 20:52
The Cinema will screen Half The Road: The Passion, Pitfalls & Power of Women's Professional Cycling (Kathryn Bertine, U.S. 2014, 112 min.) followed by a live video discussion with filmmaker Kathryn Bertine.
Modern society believes #women hold up half the sky, on equality and progression. So in professional cycling, why don't women get half the road? The documentary feature Half the Road explores women's professional #cycling, focusing on the love of sport and pressing issues of inequality that female riders face today in a male dominated sport. With footage from some of the world's best Union Cycliste Internationale – UCI races to interviews with Olympians, World Champions, rookies, coaches, managers, officials, doctors and family members, Half The Road shows the drive, dedication, and passion needed for female cyclists to thrive. Both on and off the bike, the voices and advocates of women's pro cycling take the audience on a journey of enlightenment, love, humor and best of all, change and growth.
