In an effort to engage and connect people with the Genesee River and the people that care about it we have organized an event as part of the Roc The Riverway Festival (formerly River Romance) on October 7th from 12-4. Our event, the Genesee Gateway Riverfest will be an exploration of the "South River" ecosystem and we plan to offer guided hikes, nature activities and discussions with experts in addition to other opportunities to learn about the water, wildlife and health of the ecosystem.
