Leslie K. Brown will present a Focus 45 lecture in the Curtis Theatre of the George Eastman Museum titled Kodak Picture Spots and the Perfect Picture.

At this special Focus 45 talk coinciding with the exhibition Photography and America's National Parks, Leslie K. Brown will give a historical and cultural overview of Kodak Picture Spots—the signs placed into the landscape that highlight particular subjects to photograph—moving from their earliest appearances as roadside markers in the 1920s to their installations within several national parks, world's fairs, and Disney theme parks. These Kodak signs help to promote picture-taking behaviors throughout much of the past century.
