Elvira The Immigrant Play theatrical performance (2016-Apr-30 @ 7:30 p.m.)

2016-Apr-30 @ 19:30 - 21:30

$18

The MuCCC will host a performance of Elvira The Immigrant Play by Jessica Carmona.

Based on the true life story of Elvira Arellano, a Mexican immigrant activist, the play presents an imaginary encounter between an ICE agent and Elvira. As the interrogation unfolds, the audience is taken on a journey that shows the tragic plight of immigrants, and is transported into the world of the disenfranchised. The play presents the possibility of U.S Citizens and undocumented workers finding common ground, common humanity and even friendship. The play challenges preconceived notions about who this community is and what they want. It re-affirms our common humanity that reaches across borders
