The Dryden will screen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (John S. Robertson, U.S. 1920, 85 min., 35mm) with live piano by Philip C. Carli as part of the Silent Tuesdays series.

John Barrymore delivers spectacular and chilling performances as both title characters in this superb adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel. Dr. Jekyll's theory of man's dual nature inspires him to experiment in releasing his own dark side and accidentally turns himself into the murderous Mr. Hyde. This version is widely recognized as the greatest silent film rendition (there were at least four!) of the legendary horror story.
