Depression Glass with Don Hall
2016-Sep-14 @ 19:00 - 20:00
Enjoy a lecture on on the type of antique glass that is commonly referred to as Depression glass. The glass is named for the Great Depression era when it was first popular and was the first mass produced glassware. While glass has been produced in molds in the United States since 1825, it was not until a century later that the molding process was automated, no longer requiring many hand operations. As a result, glassware quickly became much cheaper, just at a time when the country had seemingly run out of money. Audience members are invited to bring in suspected pieces of Depression glass for inclusion in the talk.
