This is a gorgeous run in which participants negotiate hills, streams, rocky outcroppings, slippery mud boardwalks, forests, and lush meadows as each tries to make his or her way to the end. Trail shoes are highly recommended. Charlie's Old Goat Run has always had that throwback feel, from the fact that there is no exact distance, (advertised as + or – 7 miles), to the post race celebration with homemade cookies, brownies, Pizza, and more! The purpose has always been showing people the camaraderie and beauty of off road running while giving back to the community, with a portion of the fees going to Ganondagan to help maintain our picturesque trails that are free to the public all year long.
