The Dryden will screen Always at the Carlyle (Matthew Miele, U.S. 2018, 93 min., DCP) as part of the Always at the Dryden series.

The Carlyle Hotel, at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 76th Street, was opened in 1930 at the height of Art Deco design. Ever since, it has been renowned for both its exclusivity and its tight-lipped discretion, which has made it popular with world leaders and camera-shy celebrities. Featuring interviews with George Clooney, Jon Hamm, Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Jeff Goldblum, Anjelica Huston, Anthony Bourdain, Naomi Campbell, and more, this documentary is a loving testament to the enduring appeal of old New York and an institution that is fighting to keep alive its way of life.
