Imagine exploring the backcountry with no bugs, smooth trails and open lean-tos. Welcome to the world of winter backpacking! Think it's too cold or dangerous? Then this workshop is for you. The proper experience and gear are key to having a great time outdoors, year-round. Part I On Saturday, January 16 from 1-3pm, Erv Tschanz and Dave Mundie will lead a seminar on the proper gear and techniques for exploring the backcountry in winter. Gear lists, safety tips, and other useful handouts will accompany the lecture. Erv and Dave will also display their own winter gear, with tips on where to get your own.
