My Fair Eliza theatrical performance (2016-Jan-2 @ 2 p.m.)
2016-Jan-02 @ 14:00 - 16:00
$5The classic story of Professor Henry Higgins and his attempt to turn "guttersnipe" Eliza Doolittle into a lady who could pass as "a duchess at an ambassador's garden party" was first performed in 1913 (as a German translation) in Vienna, followed by its New York premiere in March of 1914 (again in German) and finally in English in London in April, 1914. […] "My Fair Eliza" (taking its name from both the musical and Shaw's working title, "Fair Eliza") returns to Shaw's original version, editing the work for time and clarity. It serves as a perfect introduction to one of the great works of the theater for the uninitiated and (at around an hour runtime) a breezy refresher for fans of "Pygmalion" and "My Fair Lady" alike.
