Interested in composting but not sure how or where to start? This introductory class will briefly touch on what composting is, why composting is important, some various types of composting methods, and how composting can inevitably create a sustainable lifestyle for you. Questions and discussion are encouraged!

Did you know …there are about 700,000 people living in the greater Rochester area. If everyone composted their organics at home it would result in about 600,000 tons of compostable materials diverted from the landfill every year. That is the greenhouse gas equivalency of taking ~220,000 cars off the road! We would also have much healthier soil and wouldn't have to rely on artificial fertilizers to grow food.
