John G. Hanhardt is MAG's consulting senior curator of media arts. His talk, "Bill Viola: The Art of the Moving Image", will be a reflection on Viola's career and artwork while looking at his achievements in the context of the early history of video art. In addition to his work in relation to other contemporary artists, Hanhardt will reflect on the "Martyrs" series in the MAG Collection, currently on view, and the permanent video installation in St. Paul's Cathedral in London.
