The Dryden will screen American Madness (Frank Capra, U.S. 1932, 75 min., 35mm) as part of the Capra series.

In the pre-FDR days of the Great Depression, a good-hearted bank president, played by screen legend Walter Huston, strives to keep his business solvent for the "little people" who rely upon it. One of Frank Capra's unsung, pre-Code gems, this is also one of the most fast-paced and significant of 1930s social dramas.
