JayceLand's Weekly Rochester Events #209: Macedon Center
Well I guess the cool thing last weekend was to see
Electric Eel Shock
at
The Bug Jar
(219 Monroe Ave.)
They play a variety of styles of rock-and-roll--all with a ton of energy. It's amusing to see the juxtaposition of the lead singer's thick Japanese accent over precise straight-up rock-and-roll. Here's a picture of the show which barely yields any information at all. It was the best shot of the whole band that I got. I was doing an experiment by using my snapshot camera with fast film without the flash. I loaded it up with Kodak Supra 800 and set it to ISO 100 ... the lens is f5.6 which is a bit slow for what I wanted to do, but I thought it might work. I ended up with not quite usable images such as this one--i.e. too dark.
In other news, there's movie auditions on Saturday and Sunday at
Rochester Association of Performing Arts
(727 E. Main St.)
for
Peter: The Film.
I only know as much as the website ... I found out because there was an ad on the wall at
Java's
(16 Gibb St.)
I searched the Internet for the people involved and didn't find anything. Apparently it's a really really small production company. The website and company apparently originate from the Boston area. Why are they casting in Rochester? Who knows ... maybe it's just a fraud.

Oh yeah, one more thing. If you want to buy a
Dell
computer, you should do so very soon. Based on the commercials, those Dell interns are idiots. They've been working for months now and still don't know how it all works. Presumably they take seminars and have notebooks and such, but still they've got no clue. Sooner or later they'll be in charge, at which point the company will go out of business. One can only hope they'll just go away ... like back to idiot school or wherever they're from.
