JayceLand's Weekly Rochester Events #112. Great Bulb, Tom

Let's see ... I went out and had a wild-ish weekend last week. I saw this weird experimental music at Piranha(204 N. Water St.)on Friday night. It was the first time I'd been there and boy is it wild. Well, at least the layout lends itself to being wild. The people and activities seemed pretty tame. I assume the night owls are kinda strange. Anyway, on Saturday I saw this show atThe Bug Jar(219 Monroe Ave.)with White Cotton Panties (well, at least Meghan and Steve were there with a guest appearance by Marianne and will-play-for-anything Rob on drums and this guy Dan or Dave on bass) The Grinders and Kitty in the Tree from New York. There were a couple guys there supposedly making a movie about garage bands and they took some footage of The Grinders. Well, as you can see, I took some footage of them taking some footage. Rumor has it the film is being made to be submitted at Sundance. We'll see.

In other less exciting but nonetheless cool news, The Lone Gunmen, the spinoff of the nerdy guys from The X-Files premieres this week. Hopefully Jan will begenerous enough to allow us to ransack his place once again for that.

  • The Mexican -A cursed antique gun haunts a hitman played by Brad Pitt.
  • See Spot Run -A mailman matches wits with a crime dog in the witness relocation program. If you're on theedge trying to decide whether to kill yourself or not, this could be just what it takes topush you over the edge! Consider the society that would allow such a movie to be made. Hey, I'm feeling bad already ... why waste the eight bucks?

They play some of their own songs and some songs from the '50's and '60's.Oh yeah, it's odd to mention because one of the singers, Aubrey, is the daughter of Rick from Kodak. She's the one on the left on the album cover of their CD,Can I Get to Know You Better?,available at Amazon. I'm getting too old for this sh...stuff.

When approaching an entrance ramp to a highway, how do Rochester drivers handle a vehicle entering the highway?

Yield to the vehicle like the law says.
Stay in the right lane and match speeds.
Stay in the right lane, ignore the oncoming car assuming if you don't see it, it can't hurt you.
Change from the left lane to the right lane to block.
Hit vehicle in side so it spins out like the maneuver you saw on Cops!
Hit vehicle in side so it spins out like you saw on Speed Racer.
Let me put in my idea:...
