Ganondagan presents a rare opportunity to hear about the life of Jim Thorpe (Sac/Fox tribal member) by author Robert Wheeler. The event includes rare photographs and voice recordings. Thorpe's athletic prowess is legendary, excelling in baseball, football, lacrosse and track and field. At the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm—where he won gold in both the decathlon and pentathlon—King Gustav V called him the "world's greatest athlete." Wheeler is founder and president of the Jim Thorpe Foundation and credited with primary responsibility for restoring Thorpe's Olympic gold medals by the International Olympic Committee.
