The Glory of Nitrate short films program

2017-Dec-29 @ 18:30 - 21:30

The Dryden will screen George Eastman Greeting SMPE (U.S. 1930, 1 min., 35mm), Report from the Front (U.S. 1944, 6 min., 35mm), a trailer for Nothing Sacred (William A. Wellman, U.S. 1937, 3 min., 35mm), The Spirit of Christmas (U.S. 1939, 3 min., 35mm), Killer-Dog (Jacques Tourneur, U.S. 1936, 10 min., 35mm), and a trailer for Jezebel (William Wyler, U.S. 1938, 1 min., 35mm) as well as a Blind Date with Nitrate screening to be revealed at the screening as part of the The Glory of Nitrate series.

This evening of nitrate short films can happen in only one place: The Dryden Theatre. One of the few places in the world that can still project the volatile film stock, we celebrate this fact every spring at the Nitrate Picture Show film festival. In this program, we will highlight short films including animation, trailers, documentaries, comedies, silent films, and some of the most glorious color put to film. Expect more than just one surprise in this family-friendly program.
