The Chimney Bluffs: From Prehistory to Prohibition
2017-Sep-26 @ 14:00 - 15:00
We may think of the Chimney Bluffs as a nice place to hike on a warm day, but what are these unique cliffs on the shore of Lake Ontario? Joe O'Toole, director of the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum, will discuss how the bluffs were formed by glaciers thousands of years ago and how they are constantly changing. He will also describe the secret role the Chimney Bluffs played in rum-running during the years of Prohibition.
