The Dryden will screen Sight: The Story of Vision (Kris Koenig, U.S. 2016, 57 min., DCP) followed by a Discussion with Dr. Steven Feldon.
This one-hour documentary weaves the tale of the science, technology, medicine, and humanity that allow us to understand how sight works, cure diseases of the eye, and correct vision. It also looks at the cost of poor vision on the global economy and the vision crises that are taking place around the world. Featuring interviews with the world's leading ophthalmologists, optometrists, technologists, and humanitarians discussing how sight works and how every individual will face vision problems in their lifetime, the documentary includes stories of courageous people struggling to fight off the darkness of blindness, as well as researchers and scientists showing the exciting future of augmented vision and the possibilities to restore sight. This film has been color corrected to assist the color blind.
