Generational conflict between Nri (Non-Resident Indian) parents and their children is a common dilemma in Bollywood films. Despite moving their families and/or raising their (often foreign-born) children in a different culture where new values are adopted, the parents still insist that their children return to the homeland and marry a man or woman with traditional Hindustani values.
