Kurt Russell stars as action movie icon Snake Plissken in this cult futuristic thriller directed by the great John Carpenter. Plunged into future Manhattan, which has been turned into a maximum-security prison for the country's worst criminals, Snake must rescue the president of the United States, who is being held hostage inside by the Duke of New York. The memorable cast of colorful side characters includes Lee Van Cleef, Isaac Hayes, Donald Pleasence, and Ernest Borgnine.
