The Dryden will screen The Navigator (Buster Keaton, Donald Crisp, U.S. 1924, 60 min., 16mm) with live piano accompaniment by Philip C. Carli, as part of the Silent Tuesdays series.

While Keaton is often credited as co-director on his productions, in truth he exercised complete creative control, crafting their gorgeous cinematography as well as their inventive narrative constructions. Here, in his biggest box office hit, Keaton stars as a millionaire who by chance winds up on a deserted schooner with the woman of his dreams. Loaded with classic Keaton sidesplitting moments and sight gags, this film makes manifest his cinematic magic.
