The Penfield Public Library will screen Blazing Saddles (Mel Brooks, U.S. 1974, 93 min.)

Penfield Library will celebrate the great comic genius of the late American actor Gene Wilder who died in August 2016 with a triple film fest on three Wednesday evenings this month. The first film Blazing Saddles is directed by Mel Brooks and co-written by Richard Pryor. It features Cleavon Little as the new sheriff and Gene Wilder playing his sidekick, retired gunfighter Waco Kid who team up to protect the town of Rock Ridge from the men who want to run the railroad through the town. The film also stars Harvey Korman, Slim Pickens, and Madeline Kahn as a chanteuse modelled on Marlene Dietrich.
