The Dryden will screen Barry Lyndon (Stanley Kubrick, Uk/Us/Ireland 1975, 184 min., 35mm) as part of the Period Dramas series.

Ryan O'Neal stars as the ambitious Irish adventurer who rises from military deserter and gambler to a life of lavish excess via his eventual marriage to the wealthy Lady Lyndon (Marisa Berenson). From Thackeray's picaresque satire about an 18th-century rake, Kubrick fashioned one of the most visually sumptuous and meticulously crafted films of all time that won Academy Awards for cinematography, costumes, set design, and music.
