The Dryden will screen Erin Brockovich (Steven Soderbergh, U.S. 2000, 131 min., 35mm) as part of the Julia Roberts, and Albert Finney series.

Julia Roberts's Academy Award-winning performance anchors this film based on a true story. Erin is a fiery single mother of three who hires Ed Masry (Albert Finney) to sue for damages related to an injury she sustained in a car crash. When her temper gets the better of her in court and she loses the case, she convinces Masry to give her a job in his office. There, she comes across the case file of the Jensen family, who have had problems with tumors and lymphoma connected to the chemicals in the groundwater from the nearby electric plant. As Brockovich and Masry continue their investigation and uncover greater levels of corporate malfeasance, their case grows to proportions that will change their small town forever.
