Greentopia is excited to announce that it will be participating in the City of Rochester's River Romance event with the launch of Rochester's new EcoDistrict! The EcoDistrict provides a framework for the High Falls Neighborhood to move towards ambitious environmental and social justice goals. To celebrate this launch we will be holding an EcoFair and beginning our first EcoDistrict project. Our launch project, the first of many in the EcoDistrict, is the revitalization of a greenspace beside the gorge which is envisioned to become a part of an "EcoLoop" walking trail. From 12-2pm, volunteers will gather in the EcoDistrict to clean, weed, and plant at along the Genesee Riverway Trail. Our EcoFair will be a chance to learn how businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and citizens are making Rochester more resilient. There will be interactive displays along the Pont-de-Renne Bridge, including one describing the newly completed EcoDistrict plan, in addition to food trucks and other activities.
