Powerful diesel locomotives are the backbone of the modern railroad industry. From humble yard switchers to high-horsepower road engines, these locomotives have ruled the rails since their widespread introduction the 1940s. The highlight of this year's event is the reactivation of No. 20, built in 1949 by American Locomotive Co. in Schenectady, N.Y., and donated to our museum by the Livonia, Avon and Lakeville Railroad in 2016.
